Materi Bahasa Inggris-Asking and Giving Directions-Contoh Percakapan-Salah satu materi dalam percakapan bahasa inggris yang tidak kalah penting adalah asking and giving direction. Sebagaimana kita dalam bahasa sehari-hari menanyakan arah atau memberi tahukan letak suatu tempat kepada orang lain, hal ini penting seandainya kita berkunjung kesuatu tempat dimana penduduknya mayoritas menggunakan bahasa Inggris. Oleh karena itu, Asking and Giving Directions tidak boleh kita abaikan. NO MATTER WHAT!!!!!

Expression to give direction
Go down/up this road/street until you get to......
Keep going/stay on this street until you see.....

Make a left/right turn
Take the first left/right turn
Follow this street until you come to a traffic light/an intersection/etc.
It's next to the bank/store/etc.
It's across the street form......
You'll pass.....you can't miss it.

Dialog 1
Student     : Good morning, can I help you?
Mr. Agus  : Good morning, could you tell me where the director's office?
Student     : Sure, it's at the end of the corridor. You just go straight ahead this corridor.
Mr. Agus  : At the end of the corridor? Is it on the left or on the right side?
Student     : The left side. There is a sign on the door.
Mr. Agus  : You're welcome.


Dialog 2
Fadly      : Excuse me, I'd like to see the branch manager.
Security Guard : Do you have an appointment?
Fadly      : Yes, he is expecting me.
Security Guard : Okay. Please fill out a visitor's form.
few minutes later
Security Guard: (after receiving and reading the form). Go upstairs to the third floor, then turn left. The branch manager office is the first room on the right side. 
Fadly    : Thanks.
Security Guard : Forget it.
